Buying a new album can be a healthy exercise for your mind. Hearing new songs for the first time, entranced by new lyrics that reflect the world around you. It throws you into a deep thought, trying to piece together your feelings through the emotions in the artist's voice.

This happened while Andrew and I were sitting on a ledge-thing at Salisbury beach. It was underneath a patio to some night club. We sat and listened to my ipod (Fountains of Wayne-Someone to Love) for awhile.

That sounds kind of gay, but Andrew was in a good mood about getting some nifty equipment and I was there for....I don't know. Being available at the time. It was cool though.

It was Earthfest yesterday (still feels like today). Beth and Andrew accompanied me to the festival and it was ten buckets of fun.

I got all of Vega4 to autograph their album, which some stickler convinced me to buy (hey, only ten bucks. What a deal!).

It was a very entertaining event and I plan to make it an annual outing now, along with Riverfront Festival. You can't, and shouldn't, pass up free concerts. Especially with groups like Vega4, John Butler Trio, and Guster (who I missed) playing.

It's weird though. Beth and I haven't been dating for over two years, yet no matter how far I move on, you still have those lingering feelings. Especially when the relationship wasn't bad until the last second. If it was horrible (I'm looking at the great one night fling turned disaster Joanna) then I could care less. But when you care about someone, no matter the relationship status, it still hits you. It's a nice feeling, sometimes envious, but comfortable at times.

And I kind of hate the way my brain works, because no matter where I went during the concert I couldn't help but notice every single couple who held hands, sneaked a kiss (or blatantly make out in front of the audience), or wiped snot and popsicle off their young ones (I'm a little too young for that, but just sayin').

I'm lame and heartsick. But as I stated in my earlier entry I'm doing my best not to spend my time just looking for the next "great" relationship disaster. I've got to make my own way and let the next broken heart happen naturally.

Right. I remember writing in my first entry that talking about this crap wouldn't be my main focus. Look at how fast we do digress?

To cap this most wonderful entry I'll end it with a story:

Andrew and I were walking out of Barnes and Noble (the pants I was wearing sets off security alarms) and towards Best Buy because they didn't have the Voxtrot album I wanted. Out of the blue this amazingly beautiful woman in a white dress. I don't know how old, probably near our age but a little older. She starts to walk by us, but our eyes meet and I give her my really goofy smile. Not only did she smile back at me, but for that split second as we passed, she gave me that "you're so cute I think I have a crush" smiles.

Shit happens.
